Scholarship Application Guidelines

The Amelia County Fair Scholarship will provide scholarships to students of Amelia County planning to further their education. The scholarship will be used for applicants to assist with tuition, books, or college fees.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicant must be a resident of Amelia County.

• Application must be completed in blue or black ink or typed.

• Graduates must be accepted into college/university or pursuing a trade.

• Applicants must possess a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

• Volunteer at the fair for at least 16 hours as documented on a signed time sheet by authorized personnel.

Amelia County Fair Scholarship

Required Materials:

Please submit the following:

• Two letters of recommendation (other than relatives), one personal and one academic reference.

• A copy of college, university, or trade school acceptance.

• A one-page essay addressing one of the following topics: What did you learn from your experiences volunteering at the fair? How do you plan to utilize the scholarship to further your education? What would you do (differently) if you oversaw the fair?

• Application must be postmarked by April 15, 2024.

• Please sign and attach this page to the completed application, a personal reference, and one academic reference.

• A current official transcript of grades.

• The scholarship check will be payable to the college, university, or trade school and the recipient. Funds will be mailed after receipt of enrollment confirmation.

• All promissory hours need to be completed before issuance of the Scholarship.
